The Happy Land Kids Club is an indoor playground consisting of two distinct structures designed to cater to children of different age groups and play preferences. The main structure is a larger area filled with a variety of play elements and climbing activities, including two spiral slides and two drop slides that lead into a vast ball pool on the ground floor. Additionally, there is a cannon area for added interactive play. The second, smaller structure is designed for younger children. It is shaped like a tower and is surrounded by a whale-shaped play area that features a spiral slide, ending in a sand pool.

Project Design

The design and project was completed in a phased manner to ensure that the playful and educational goals for children were met, with safety and engagement as the top priorities.

  • To ensure that the design is visually engaging, incorporating imaginative elements like the whale theme and colorful slides.

Results

The Happy Land Kids Club successfully opened in June 2019, offering a vibrant and engaging environment for children. It has become a popular recreational space in Xiamen, providing a balance of fun, safety, and developmental play for kids of all ages.

This case study highlights the importance of thoughtful design and planning in creating spaces that foster creativity and physical activity while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of young users.
